The member universities, Université Laval, UQAR, McGill University and INRS-ETE, participate financially in the Regroupement and contribute to the major infrastructures and equipment. Their researchers and students who are part of Québec-Océan can take advantage of the privileges offered by the Regroupement, according to the membership category they belong to.
The Maurice Lamontagne Institute (Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Canada) have some of their researchers participate in the scientific program of Québec-Océan and benefit from some advantages of the Regroupement.
Amundsen Science is in charge of the scientific management and maintenance of the Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen, and share some services with Québec-Océan.
