In early March, a winter school in physical oceanography was held in Rimouski. At the helm of the event was our doctoral student member in physical oceanography at UQAR-ISMER, Rosalie Shink, alongside our physics co-investigator and professor, Louis-Philippe Nadeau. The school focused on changes to the physical system in the Arctic, with an emphasis on interactions between the ocean and sea ice.The week's activities took place at Bic's National Park, including fieldwork, lectures and applied workshops over 5 days. The training provided an opportunity to develop essential skills, discuss transatlantic perspectives and networkwing.
Among the thirty or so participants, from a dozen institutions in Quebec and France, were several members of Québec-Océan. We're delighted to have supported the event! Congratulations to our member Rosalie for coordinating the event, and to the whole team!
This thematic school was organized in partnership with Ifremer, Québec-Océan and the Institut France-Québec maritime, with the collaboration of UQAR-ISMER and the participation of CERFACS/CECI, École Normale Supérieure - PSL, McGill University, Université de Toulouse, Environnement et Changement climatique, UBO - Université de Bretagne Occidentale, the University of Tokyo, and ESPCI - PMNH.
