Abstract:
“DRS: a system designed for fishermen and developed with fishermen. The result of Devocean’s expertise and talents, the DRS (Devocean Ropeless System) allows you to fish with your fixed gear in a competitive time, while cohabiting harmoniously with marine mammals. Our innovative on-demand fishing system has been designed and tested in close collaboration with snow crab fishermen. It’s simple to use, practical, safe and allows you to fish in an area closed due to marine mammals. Our on-demand buoy attaches to the fishing gear and sinks with it to the seabed. It resurfaces thanks to an acoustic signal, enabling the gear to be recovered, while eliminating the risk of entanglement for right whales and other marine mammals.”
