SUMMARY:
From May to October 2023, Continuum Océan took its first steps. This long-term project began on the shores of Rimouski, between the marina and Saint-Barnabé Island. The summer's objective was to identify the needs in terms of oceanographic data collection that can be met with a sailboat. To this end, Continuum Ocean approached several ISMER researchers, who provided mission plans and equipment. Over 35 passengers embarked on this first summer. Many took part in phytoplankton collection, shoreline exploration, sediment collection and the launching of a drifting buoy. This is an opportunity to look back at what was achieved this summer, and to continue to evolve the possibilities that Continuum Ocean can offer the community in the coming years.
