The Littoral Research Chair in Ecosystem Approaches to Health, led by Mélanie Lemire (U. Laval), and young Inuk Malaya Bishop, describe the impact of climate change-induced ocean modifications on human health. Ocean ecosystems, already under pressure from overfishing and pollution, are facing increasing risks of further degradation. With melting sea ice, rising sea levels, and increasingly extreme weather events, human health and well-being now face numerous threats, primarily targeting coastal populations.
