Professor Zhe Lu (UQAR-ISMER) and member of Québec-Océan, will lead a large-scale research project on the impact of microplastics in the St. Lawrence River and estuary, thanks to funding of approximately $1M over 4 years from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and Environment and Climate Change, under the program "Plastics Science for a Cleaner Future". The team led by Zhe Lu also includes UQAR-ISMER professors Huixiang Xie and Dominique Robert, both members of Québec-Océan, as well as professors Steve Wiseman (U. Lethbridge) and Jessica Head (U.
