ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING
CONVENTION CENTRE – HÔTEL UNIVERSEL OF RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP
NOVEMBRE 5-6, 2018

Dear colleagues, members, collaborators and partners, we invite you to the Annual Scientific Meeting of Québec-Océan which will take place on November 5 and 6, 2018 in Rivière-du-Loup.

The oceans bordering the Québec and Canada constitute a unique natural heritage, which is essential for sustainable development and the well-being of mankind. Important pressures threaten the future of this heritage and may lead to consequences that are numerous and complex. Québec-Océan, the inter-institutional oceanographic research group of Québec, contributes to understanding and solving some of these issues, as a leading organization for the advancement of knowledge in oceanography.

Since 1970, Québec-Océan has constituted a critical mass of research in Québec with 62 researchers, over a hundred students, postdoctoral researchers, research professionals and its Allies. The Annual Scientific Meeting will be an opportunity for you to meet and discuss the Arctic, the St. Lawrence and the ocean in general with specialists in all marine disciplines. This meeting is the ideal event to learn more about the oceanic responses to global change, the integrity of coastal marine environments and regional socioeconomic issues and new frontiers in oceanography. The two-day meeting will include, in addition to the annual activity report, conferences, presentations of our Allies, networking activities and the must-see social evening!

Come discover the work carried out by our scientists and their teams in Rivière-du-Loup!
