2018 ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING
HIGHLIGHTS

The Quebec-Ocean Annual Scientific Meeting was held with great enthusiasm at the Rivière-du-Loup Convention Centre on November 5 and 6, 2018. The scientific programme and the various activities brought together a total of 120 people.

This year's edition was marked by a balanced representation of the different institutions both among all participants and in each of the activities. The programme included no less than 48 posters and some 20 oral presentations by 13 students, 3 postdoctoral researchers, 4 researchers and a Quebec-Ocean Ally. The topics covered, which covered all oceanography disciplines, reflected the strong integration of Québec-Océan's research axes and themes.

Among the highlights of the event was the long-awaited presentation of the "Québec-Océan Excellence Awards", the recipients of which are listed below.

The presence of representatives from the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park, Stratégies St-Laurent, the Centre d'expertise en gestion des risques d'incidents maritimes (CEGRIM), and Amundsen Science also allowed fruitful exchanges that will lead to new collaborations in the future.
